About Me
AJ Ramsden Ltd provides experienced leadership, operational expertise and practical business support to owner-managed businesses and leadership teams.
I'm Alistair Ramsden, founder of AJ Ramsden Ltd. I draw on more than 20 years of leadership experience across multi-site, customer-facing operations. Throughout my career, I have built a reputation for improving business performance, developing people, enhancing customer experience and helping organisations achieve sustainable commercial success.
Most recently, I held senior leadership responsibility across six businesses employing more than 350 people, helping lead the organisation to become the first Toyota retailer group in the UK to achieve Best Group status for three consecutive years.
Unlike many consultants, I focus on practical implementation rather than theory. I understand the challenges faced by business owners because I have managed businesses myself. Whether supporting an organisation as a Fractional Director, Interim Leader or trusted advisor, my focus is always on delivering measurable improvements in performance, profitability and customer experience.

Meet Alistair
Whilst AJ Ramsden Ltd is built on decades of leadership and business experience, there is more to Alistair than boardrooms, business performance and operational excellence.
A proud family man, Alistair has been married to his wife Melanie for nearly 30 years and they have two grown sons. Family has always been at the centre of his life and remains his greatest source of pride and motivation.
Away from work, Alistair enjoys spending time with family and friends, particularly exploring the beautiful coastline and countryside of South Wales. He is a keen hiker, cyclist and competitive dinghy sailor, regularly taking part in sailing events around the UK. These interests reflect many of the qualities he brings to business: preparation, teamwork, resilience, continuous improvement and a determination to perform at his best.
Alistair believes that successful leadership starts with understanding people. Whether working with customers, colleagues or business owners, he values honesty, integrity and building long-term relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
When not working with clients, you'll most likely find him on the water, on a walking trail, or planning the next adventure with his family.
Behind the scenes, Melanie plays an important role as trusted sounding board, chief encourager and occasional voice of reason. Whilst not officially part of the business, her support, perspective and patience have been instrumental throughout Alistair's career.
The household is completed by Cookie and Ghost, two bengal cats who firmly believe they are in charge of everything and who take their supervisory responsibilities very seriously.
